Director Natyam National Theatre
From a group of amateur theatre artists metamorphosing into a popular theatre group on the North Indian landscape, Natyam, as we know it today, has a rich history spanning over two long decades. It began with Panj Dariya Rangmanch in the mid-eighties but was rechristened in 1991 as Natyam Theatre Group. Putting social and community issues on the theatre stage gained Natyam tremendous popularity and acceptance. Keerti Kirpal, a core artist at heart, has been the propeller of Natyam’s journey who later became its founder director.
As we speak, Natyam has evolved into a frontline and popular forum of performing arts at regional and national levels. Its patrons’ consistent and unrelenting effort has made Natyam a magnet for theatre fans, attracting talent nationwide while hosting national-level annual theatre festivals for the last twelve years.
Using theatre as the launch pad, Natyam has fostered creativity, inclusivity, and social change. With captivating theatre plays, thought-provoking exhibitions and live performances, Natyam has brought people of all backgrounds together, sparking conversations and inspiring social change.
