After joining the group as an artist in 1985, Keerti Kirpal’s work under Dr. Pali Bhupinder’s direction took the reins of this group as director in 1997. After initial plays like “Mitti da bawa” and later “Us nu Kaheen, “Keerti managed to make a place for himself in the hearts of urban and rural audiences. Winning accolades for best direction for the play “Zindagi.”.
Keerti got a gold medal at Punjabi University in the year 2000, which gave him immense impetus to burn night oil for Punjabi theatre. Apart from the youth festivals and children’s fests, Keerti also proved instrumental in performing his artists in two big festivals of Punjab—the Baba Farid National Drama Festival Faridkot and the theatre festival of mahashakti kala mandir Barnala. He got several rewards for directions and performance in these festivals between 1998 and 2010. As on date ,Keerti has over 1200 theatre performances in diverse avatars.
His most famous theatre plays are—rabbarabbameehbarsaa, chandjadon roti lagdahai, rabb ji thalle aa jo (all children plays), Zindagi, gaathavagdepanian di, mai Bhagat Singh, Chandan de Ohle, us nu kahin, wrong number, tuhanukehra rang pasandhai, wapsi, mitti di kahani, murh aa lamha ton, pooran, ihmahabharat da yugnahi.
